Action for Family Carers

About

Action for Family Carers is an Essex-based charity that has been making a positive difference to lives of unpaid carers for over 30 years. A carer is someone, who, without payment, provides help and support to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, who could not manage without their help. This could be due to age, physical or mental illness, addiction or disability.

We are the only Carers Trust Network Partner based in Essex and have been awarded the Trusted Charity Mark at Level 2, NCVO's highest quality mark for charity management and governance.

At Action for Family Carers, we believe that unpaid carers of all ages should be recognised, respected and valued and have opportunities to achieve their own goals in life.

We provide support for Adult Carers, Young Carers, Young Carer Club Nights & Trips, Support Groups, Whole Family Support, Counselling, Day Care and Activity Groups. We also work with Employers, GPs and Schools to help them provide better support for Carers.
