Wilderness Foundation Down to Earth Allotments
What is this service?
Our Down to Earth Allotment programme is based in inner city Chelmsford where we run six plots, opening them up to a range of community groups and schools. Most of our volunteers are living with mental or physical disability and come via MENCAP and various SEND schools who cater for young people with complex and severe learning difficulties. We also use the allotment to engage recovery clients from charities such as Open Road (Drugs & Alcohol charity) and also for patients as a form of social prescribing for those dealing with long term/chronic illnesses.
