About
Refuge Accommodation:
Our crisis accommodation is available to women and their children who are fleeing domestic abuse. Alongside the safe place to stay, we offer a wide range of emotional and practical support to give women the space, time and opportunity to cope with what they have experienced and to build resilience and self confidence for a future life without domestic abuse. A resettlement worker also supports families moving on from refuge accommodation.
Recovery Refuge:
Our recovery refuge offers a housing solution for women who are experiencing domestic abuse along with other influences of using drug or alcohol as way coping with the trauma experienced.
Our Recovery Refuge helps to build a more equal society for women where everyone has a safe roof over their head regardless of their circumstances.
In the Community:
We deliver emotional and practical support to people in the community experiencing domestic abuse or violence and who feel unable to leave their situation and/or wish to remain in their own home.
We provide support services to former refuge residents to help them rebuild their lives.
Hospital Support:
We work with the safeguarding team to support any victim of domestic abuse admitted to hospital.
Help for Children and Young People:
Children will be affected by domestic abuse; they may witness it happening or may hear it from another room and they will certainly see the impact it has. For families staying in our refuge accommodation we offer practical and emotional support to help children and young people understand and overcome the abuse they have experienced and help them build self confidence and emotional resilience for the future.
Counselling:
Our counselling service offers 1:1 person centred sessions for both refuge and community service users. We run a range of support programmes to help people recognise and come to terms with the violence they have suffered.
Awareness Raising & Training
We provide training to organisations to help them develop the skills to spot the signs of domestic abuse and the confidence to approach the issue so that more people have access to the support they need sooner. We believe that by talking about the issue at schools and within community groups we will increase the number of people in the community who feel confident to have that first conversation to encourage people experiencing abuse to come forward to seek help.
If you are living with domestic abuse, or know someone in this situation we can offer support.
