The Essex Alumni Group arranges several events a year, mainly lecture-and-lunch meetings at locations around the County, often with an Essex theme and generally with a senior academic speaker. There are also theatre parties - matinees followed by supper - and other outings. The Essex Freshers Party has become a prestigious occasion, being held at County Hall and hosted by the current County Council Chairman.
