We are a small friendly village school situated in the hamlet of Highwood just outside Chelmsford.

At Highwood we provide an exciting, broad and engaging curriculum which encourages our children to become confident, resilient, life-long learners.

We aim high wanting all our children to exceed expectations and attain the very best results they can, academically, creatively and personally.

We are an inclusive school and offer a unique opportunity for children by teaching them in mixed year group classes with staff who know the children well.

The school has a history that dates back to 1850 and is a significant part of the local community. As a forest school we have the opportunity to use our extensive grounds and local forest to extend our curriculum.
