An independent charitable trust, one of 54 community foundations across the UK which are playing a leading role in the development of local philanthropy and resources to sustain communities. By acting as a broker, Essex Community Foundation can help donors achieve their charitable objectives and local voluntary groups secure funding for their work. Since 1996 they have built an endowed fund of over £20 million and have distributed over 5,000 grants across Essex, Southend and Thurrock.
