The Chelmsford Museum is based in Oaklands House, an historic property off Moulsham Street in Chelmsford, Essex. It is a Grade II Listed building.

Essex Regiment Museum tells the story of the regiment and is located within Chelmsford Museum. Events and activities include a Memory Cafe designed for those who are living with dementia to attend with their families and loved ones; various talks and temporary exhibitions; and learning sessions for schools linked to the National Curriculum. Chelmsford Museum are part of the Chelmsford Local Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP).
