About

Amongst other services, AFFC provides telephone befriending service for isolated carers in Mid, North East, Basildon & Brentwood, West Essex. To refer for befriending in North East Essex please contact 0300 770 8090. julie.atkinson@affc.org.uk A carer is someone, who, without payment, provides help and support to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, who could not manage without their help. This could be due to age, physical or mental illness, addiction or disability. They support any Carer from the age of 18. They offer the following services: ? One to one visits ? Information provision ? Emotional support ? Individual funding opportunities ? Telephone contact A free counselling is available in Braintree, Maldon, Chelmsford, Witham, Rayleigh and Colchester. Also available is the Feeling Good, Caring Well project and Way to Work project. plus Day Centre respite care & support for young carers (8+) in Maldon, Braintree, Chelmsford & Colchester & support for young adult carers
